"Pretty boi" came from when I was uncomfortable my whole life with any signifiers or descriptors that were geared toward feminine bodies, as I was starting to come out as trans non-binary. At 2+ years out as non binary, I am reclaiming words like beautiful and pretty for myself, because I can be a pretty boi as well as a handsome one!
